BYD Auto sales up 176% - 7/22/09
BYD Auto sold 176,795 vehicles in the first half of 2009 which is an increase of 176% from 2008.
BYD Auto is moving forward with the commercialization of its electric vehicles. Their E6 model is waiting for regulatory approval and will be going on sale by the end of 2009. The F3DM is on national tour and will be available by September.
The DM (dual mode) vehicles made by BYD Auto have been approved by the Chinese government for mass production and will be sold first in thirteen major cities in China. BYD currently only invests in mainland China. Production capacity has reached 800,000 cars annually.
