Israel's Finance Ministry gives Shai Agassi Stage for Electric Car - 12/21/07

Shai Agassi former SAP executive will be the guest of honor at tow conferences hosted by the Israel Ministry of Finance.  Agassi will deliver a lecture entitled “Green Israel’s next take off point” discussing the SAP electric car and the green future of Israel at the annual Capital Markets division conference.

The government of Israel is interested in Agassi’s electric car venture.  A task force headed by Prime Minister’s Office director general Raanan Dinur will try to find solutions for the production of non polluting cars.

Globes motoring affairs correspondent, Dubi Ben Gedalyahu is concerned about the cost and technology advances that will be overcome to start such a project.  Problems with the electric car include:

• Battery cost have risen 350% in recent years
• Each battery will cost $200.00 to recycle
• Building a infrastructure for recharging the vehicles
• Battery efficiency
