Loremo Will Have 120 MPG and all Electric Prototypes Soon - 1/23/09
Loremo has been around since 2000 in Germany. They are progressing on both their high mpg model and the all electric version. Loremo claims to have three different power train prototypes ready for 2009. The new Loremo blog calls this “a major milestone on the way to series development.”
The base model Loremo will get around 120 mpg with a 700 ccm engine that features turbo charging, inter-cooling and exhaust gas recycling.
The Loremo GT, which is the sport version of the base model, will use a German made Otto gasoline engine. Their plan is to use the 850 ccm Otto engine and convert it to CGN or LPG, which is something customers are asking for.
Testing for the Loremo EV all electric cars has been started and a roadworthiness certificate issued. The Loremo EV will start public road tests in March.
All three of the power trains will be put in the same body. Loremo says the development of the liquid fueled engines has progressed enough that the only item remaining is development on the chassis, shell and interior.
