GM Could Build 70,000 Chevy Volts in a Year - 9/3/09

GM reports they plan to make 200-400 Chevy Volts in 2010.  By 2011 they plan to build 10,000.  These numbers are substantially lower than their prediction a few years ago of 60,000 Volts the first year.  CNET believes the actual number of plug in hybrids like the Volts that use the LG Chem’s lithium ion battery packs could build 70,000 a year.  CNET believes the price of these battery packs to be in the $8,000 range.
