Zero S Electric Motorcycle Coming in April - 3/18/09
Maker of electric off road motorcycles, Zero Motorcycles is planning to release it first street legal electric motorcycle next month. The new Zero S electric supermotor bike will have 3kWhs of battery capacity. That is 50 percent more than the lithium-ion unit that Zero uses in its Zero X dirt bike. This will cause the S model to outweigh the Zero X by 50 pounds.

The S model will do 0-60 mph in 4 seconds and have a top speed of 70 miles per hour. With the speed and additional weight the Zero S should be highway capable. The starting price is expected to be $9,950 before any federal incentives are applied.
