Farm Bill Aimed at Increasing the Availability of E85 - 4/11/07
Thirteen members of the U.S. Senate recently co-signed and sent a letter to the Senate Agriculture Committee to include provisions in the 2007 Farm Bill aimed at increasing the availability of E85.
U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) spearheaded the letter and worked closely with NEVC on securing Senate signagures. Minnesota is the nation's E-85 leader when it comes to the number of pumps and gallons sold. “We have roughly a quarter of the pumps in the country," said Klobuchar. "Our state knows from experience that this is a win-win for both farmers and drivers. We are at the start of this energy revolution and the possibilities for success are endless if we have the resources to support it."
NEVC would like to extend its thanks to U.S. Senate members who have proactively supported the expansion of E85 availability in the Farm Bill. We look forward to working with our industry players as more E85 retail pumps come online.
