Camden Launches Hydrogen Generator - 10/30/08
Camden, U.K. recently launched a new zero emission hydrogen fuel cell generator. The new hydrogen generator will be used to provide clean and quiet temporary power at Council events instead of the dirty and noisy conventional generators.
The fuel comes from Camden’s new hydrogen fueling station, which is the first government owned hydrogen fueling station in the U.K.
Camden is committed to taking part in climate change, and improving the environment both locally and globally.
The 5kW portable hydrogen fuel cell generator is funded by the Transport of London. The project is a partnership between the London Hydrogen Partnership, Air Products Ltd., and the Vehicle and Operating Services Agency.
The portable fuel cell hydrogen generator will be used to power roadside vehicle emissions testing equipment, power lighting and sound equipment at Council events, and as temporary back up power at the transport depot.
The hydrogen generator is housed in a trailer that can be towed making the system very portable. Camden’s Modec electric van will be used to tow the generator.
