Hy-Drive Technologies converts conventional combustion engines to run hydrogen - 5/24/06

Hy-Drive’s Hydrogen Generating System (HGS) converts water into hydrogen.  The hydrogen is then injected into a combustion engine.  No engine modifications are required.  Increased horsepower and reduction of emissions ard fuel consumption is resulted from the use of hydrogen.

Studies made by the California Environmental Engineering found reduced particulate matter emissions up to 81 percent and hydro carbon emissions up to 75 percent.  A 9.5 fuel consumption reduction was found.  There are 100 units on the road today.  The cost for the unit is $10,500.00.  This cost is easily made up the first year in fuel savings and lower maintenance cost.

The HGS produces an on demand injection of hydrogen gas into the combustion chamber which gives a more complete burn of the air fuel mixture.  This gives improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions.  This system will extend engine life due to the reduction of carbon build-up.  The HGS system has been tested on a wide variety of combustion engines all showing 9% to 30% fuel savings and 2% to 6% horsepower improvement.

Hy-Drives technologies plan to initially provide a proprietary on board hydrogen and oxygen generation and injection system.  Hy-Drive wants to first target the commercial diesel truck and bus industry.
